Jeon Woochi: the Taoist Wizard

There’s not much I can say about Woochi except that I really enjoyed watching it (after all the crying and what not). It’s a modern-sageuk fusion with plenty of magic and harmless fun. It’s also pretty funny. This movie reminds me a lot of Journey to the West, especially with a mischievous main character who got sealed away for centuries.

(and did I mention deities descending on clouds?)

(the three Taoist geezers who sealed Woochi and Chorangyi away; in modern time, they’re a: monk, shaman, and priest lol)

(heh I like the whole meta about having fight scenes at a film set)
