  1. Hi Hamster428, I have a question regarding the ancient arts feature in many translation projects. Do you know where they are from? Are there artists for that type of ancient arts? Or are they fan arts?

  2. Hey hamster! I’ve been a lurker for a long time on your amazing site *happy dances* I really admire your dedication to all your novels ^-^ and I love your translations!

I’m a relatively new translator, and I was wondering how I could get the contact infos of the authors I want to get consent from? I’ve also been facing the situation of people stealing translations too >_< and I was wondering what methods you use to combat this, personally?

    Thanks hamster!

    • Hi! Nice to meet you.
Hoju helped to contact the authors through weibo for me. If you have a weibo account, you most likely can find your authors there.
The most I’ve done is get a domain and register it with google 😓 then I can file DMCA against the websites that steal from me. This will get their pages off of the search results. I also track within google for keywords. So if any new pages are created with those words or paragraphs I will be notified. It’s tedious but I’m not tech savvy enough to play with other encryption methods, esp if it will make life harder for readers, and also there are those who use my translations to translate into other languages, I want them to still be able to cut and paste for their convenience.

      • Thank you so much hamster! I managed to contact one of my authors so far, with another one left to go! ^-^

The DMCA technique sounds excellent (as another non-tech savvy person. Lol.) For some reason, it seems to cost money though…? Hmm I will have to look more into it when I have time. Thanks for everything hamster and I will no longer be a lurker out of many! 🙂

        • You’re welcome! Registering with google shouldn’t cost anything. But if you have a free WordPress account, you’ll need to buy a domain name to add google’s DNS, which verifies that you indeed own your blog. The feature isn’t available for a free account.
You can file the same claim through Bing and Yahoo who don’t really verify your ownership but the search giant is Google so it’s more important to get results off of their searches. Try to get both chapters and index pages off. I was lazy and didn’t go back to file against the index page that contains chapter links… but yeah…
Lmk if you run into any troubles. It was super tedious and I was near tearing my hair out.

          • Thanks hamster! Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been occupied with finals recently T_T but I will definitely let you know if I have any issues! I haven’t looked into it completely yet, but I’ll contact you in a week, when I’m freed up to check it out! 😀

  4. Hello! I just saw the movie Once Upon A Time, and I loved watching it. So I bought the book To The Sky Kingdom. I read on a review that there were 2 epilogues about Dumpling and Ye Hua. I read the one about Dumpling but I cannot find one from Ye Hua’s pov. Would you plz, plz PLZ tell me where I may find this epilogue? It doesn’t have to be in English (though that would be preferable). I was told you might know where I can find this. I just want to know where I can find it. Is it in a particular special edition of the book?
